Arts and Human Rights exhibition at Shelter City Tanzania
Shelter City Tanzania in Dar es Salaam held an exhibition about Arts and Human Rights. This project came to life thanks to the cooperation between African Human Rights Network and some artists and human rights defenders who have relocated to the Shelter City.
The Africa Human Rights Network is a human rights organization with ties to the Netherlands and the Great Lakes region and it coordinates Shelter City Tanzania.
Human rights defenders from the Great Lakes Region can relocate to Shelter City Tanzania. During their stay, they have the opportunity to continue their work, strenghten their strategies, engage with allies in the region, attend the Ordinary Sessions of the African Commission on Human Rights and submit recommentations through the Mechanism of the Special Rapporteur on human rights defenders in Africa.
The exhibition opened at Ramada Encore on the 21st of February. It was visited by people from civil society organizations, artists platforms, representatives of embassies such as the Dutch ambassador, international organizations and government officials.
