You are invited to the photo exhibition “With no Ithaca awaiting” by Shelter City Amsterdam guest, Félix.
Félix is a Mexican photojournalist and a human rights defender from Veracruz, one of the most dangerous places for journalists in the world. In his works he reflects the issues of migration, enforced dissapereances, war against drug trafficking, human rights and childhood in Latin America.
“With no Ithaca Awaiting” reflects years of migrant exodus in Latin America and The Caribbean. The exhibition encourages people to reflect on the phenomenon of migration and the sociocultural realities behind it. The work motivates dialogue with and within the public.
The opening is at 19:30, December 8 at Bar Bario in Amsterdam. The exhibition is open from 8 December until 1 January.
